Methyl [(2-aminophenyl)carbamothioyl]carbamate (N-methyl-2-(phenylsulfanylcarbamothioyl)benzamide) is an organic compound that is used as a fungicide. N-methyl-2-(phenylsulfanylcarbamothioyl)benzamide inhibits the growth of fungi by interfering with nucleic acid metabolism, protein synthesis, and cell division. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of viruses such as tobacco mosaic virus and bactericidal bacteria, such as Escherichia coli. This drug can also be used as a fungicide in lettuce, where it has been shown to inhibit the growth of several fungi, including Fusarium oxysporum.
