Product Information
2-(4-Methylphenyl)-1,3-thiazole is a small molecule that has been shown to be an effective electron donor. It can be used as a ligand in coordination chemistry and as an experimental probe of the properties of catalysts. 2-(4-Methylphenyl)-1,3-thiazole has been shown to have a homolytic electron transfer property. This means that it can accept or donate electrons in its ground state. The emission spectrum of this compound consists of four peaks: two ultraviolet (UV) and two infrared (IR). These peaks correspond to the electronic transitions at λmax = 295 nm and λmax = 590 nm for the UV region and at λmax = 1230 nm and λmax = 1730 nm for the IR region. 2-(4-Methylphenyl)-1,3-thiazole is thermally stable with a melting point of about 300 °C.
