Product Information
- Imidazole-4-carbonitrile,5-amino-1-methyl- (6CI,8CI)
- 5-Amino-1-methyl-1H-imidazole-4-carbonitrile
5-Amino-4-cyano-1-methylimidazole is a natural product that can be synthesized from the reaction of hydrogen chloride and purinium. The imidazole ring is an efficient electron donor, which leads to an efficient synthesis. The heterocycle reacts with chloride, forming 5-amino-4-cyanoimidazole, which then reacts with ammonia to form 5-amino-4-cyanopyridine. This reaction is the basis for the synthesis of many heteromines.
