4-Ethoxybenzophenone is a catalytic chemical. It can be used as a catalyst in the acetylation of alcohols, esters and amides. It also has anionic polymerization properties and is used to produce homogeneous catalysts for alkoxy groups, lanthanide complexes, activated phenyl groups and methyl methacrylate. 4-Ethoxybenzophenone has been shown to have good emission properties in organic solvents with triflate or solvents such as monomers.
