Methyl Dichlorostearate is a mixture of two isomers, 2-methyl-1,3-dichlorostearate and 3-methyl-1,2-dichlorostearate. It is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 180°C. Methyl Dichlorostearate is used as an intermediate in the production of ethyl linoleate. In addition to its use in industry, methyl dichlorostearate can be used as a solvent for paints and varnishes and as an additive in lubricating oils.
