Synonyms:
  • (2alpha,3alpha)-2,3-Dihydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid
Description:

3-Epicorosolic acid is a natural compound that has been shown to have collagenase and hydroxylase activities. It also inhibits tumor growth in vivo, suppresses the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines, and induces apoptosis in cancer cells. 3-Epicorosolic acid has also been shown to inhibit the activity of protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) by binding to them, which may lead to an inhibition of chronic bronchitis. 3-Epicorosolic acid has potent inhibitory activity against inflammation diseases, such as atherosclerotic lesions and ulcerative colitis. The inhibitory dose for 3-epi-corosolic acid is 100 μM.
