Product Information
6-Hydroxyquinoline-2-carbonitrile (6HQ) is a cell apoptosis activatable probe molecule. It binds to the caspase enzyme, which is an enzyme that cleaves proteins in cells and is involved in apoptosis. The binding of 6HQ to caspases causes a cascade of reactions that lead to cancer cell death by apoptosis. 6HQ has been shown to be effective against various cancer types, including pancreatic, lung, and breast cancers. This drug can also be used as a light source for optical imaging diagnosis and visualization of disulfide bonds in bioconjugates.
