Piperidine-1-carboximidamide hydrochloride is a chemical compound that has been studied in toxicological studies and yields. It has also been shown to have antimalarial activity. Piperidine-1-carboximidamide hydrochloride is nonpolar and insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as isopropyl alcohol or chloroform. This compound solidifies at room temperature and is lachrymatory. It can be prepared by the addition of sulfate to chloride or by the reaction of cyanuric chloride with an alcohol, such as isopropyl alcohol or ethanol.
