Product Information

Name:
1-Cinnamoylpyrrolidine
Description:

1-Cinnamoylpyrrolidine is a chiral compound that has potent inhibition activity against the enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase. This inhibition leads to decreased production of the neurotransmitter phenylethylamine, which is responsible for many nervous system diseases. Phenolic acid derivatives are also known to have radical scavenging activity and can be used as medicines. The flow rate of 1-cinnamoylpyrrolidine can be altered by changing the temperature or concentration of the solution. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor in platelet aggregation and collagen synthesis. 1-Cinnamoylpyrrolidine is also an amide with a cinnamoyl group, which makes it part of the cinnamides class.
1-Cinnamoylpyrrolidine is synthesized through condensation of cinnamic acid and piperidone with catalytic quantities of sodium methoxide in methanol at refluxing
