Description:
8-Bromo-3-azatricyclo[7.3.1.0µ,¹³]trideca-1(12),5,7,9(13),10-pentaene-2,4-dione is a fluorescent compound that is synthesized by the reaction of 8-bromoacetylsalicylaldehyde with 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile and potassium carbonate in methanol. This compound has been shown to have anticancer activity against human colon cancer cells (HT29) in vitro and in vivo. It also inhibits the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and induces morphological changes in this bacterium.
