Thiamphenicol palmitate is a prodrug of thiamphenicol that has been shown to be effective against a variety of bacteria, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is available as a white crystalline powder that can be dissolved in water or other solvents. Thiamphenicol palmitate is used to treat bacterial infections in humans, animals, and plants. The symptoms of bacterial infections vary depending on the type and severity of the infection. For example, common symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, and skin rash. Thiamphenicol palmitate is also used to treat bacterial infections caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae in children under 6 years old. This drug forms microparticles with chloramphenicol which have bactericidal activity against a wide range of bacteria.
