Product Information

Name:
Cearoin
Description:

Cearoin is a natural compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the expression of pro-inflammatory genes, such as COX-2, IL-1β and TNF-α in human cells, which are involved in inflammation. Cearoin also inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO), which are inflammatory mediators that contribute to cancer progression. Cearoin has shown inhibitory effects on animal models of various inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, colitis and neuroblastomas. The mechanism for this inhibition is not yet clear but it may be related to autophagy, a process by which cells break down and recycle their own proteins and organelles. Autophagy has been observed in animals treated with cearoin, suggesting that this natural compound may have anticancer activity.
