Levomoprolol-d7 is a levorotatory (left-handed) stereoisomer of levopropanolol, which is an antihypertensive drug. Levopropanolol acts on the heart muscle by decreasing the activity of beta-adrenergic receptors and increasing the activity of alpha receptors, leading to a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure. The compound was synthesized by asymmetric synthesis, making it a novel analog of levopropanolol. This particular stereoisomer has been associated with bowel disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
