Ethyl 3-chloro-2-cyano-4,4,4-trifluorobut-2-enoate (ETC) is a synthetic chemical that is used as a reagent for the asymmetric synthesis of benzoates. ETC has also been used as an activated caproic acid polymerase chain reaction (PCR) primer in gene amplification experiments.
