Product Information
Dehydrocrebanine is a silico-derived drug that is a potent inhibitor of the uthongine (UTH) synthase enzyme, which is involved in the biosynthesis of staphylococcal cell wall teichoic acids. Dehydrocrebanine has been shown to inhibit uthongine synthesis in vitro and in vivo, leading to increased susceptibility of S. aureus to antibiotics and reduced virulence. Dehydrocrebanine also inhibits proliferation of MCF-7 breast cancer cells and leukemia cells derived from human leukemia cell lines. The molecule was found to have anti-tuberculosis activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains.
