Nelumol A is a natural product that belongs to the indole alkaloid class of compounds and is isolated from the leaves of the Rubiaceae plant. It has been shown to have inhibitory effects on glioblastoma cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit RNA synthesis. Nelumol A also inhibits the growth of biliary cirrhosis cells, which are characterized by their morphological changes. This compound was found to induce apoptosis in these cells by inhibiting protein synthesis.
