Description:
3,4-Dihydro-2H-pyrazino[1,2-a]indol-1-one is an antibacterial agent that belongs to the group of synthetic pyrazinoindoles. It inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit and inhibiting protein synthesis. 3,4-Dihydro-2H-pyrazino[1,2-a]indol-1-one has been shown to be effective against Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. This drug has also been shown to have antiinflammatory properties and may work by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
