3-[(2E)-3-(4-Methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]-4-phenyl-1,2-dihydroquinolin-2-one is a molecule that can induce apoptosis in cells. It is clinically relevant for the treatment of cancer, as it has been shown to induce apoptosis in prostate cancer cells and inhibit the proliferation of du145 cells. 3-[(2E)-3-(4-Methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]-4-phenyl-1,2-dihydroquinolin-2-one is also able to induce apoptosis in vivo using a mouse model. This molecule may be effective against other types of cancer such as breast cancer and leukemia.
