The structure of 1MIS is similar to that of the amide group. It has been shown to be efficient for radiation protection and providing a radiation shield for items such as food, pharmaceuticals, and electronics. 1MIS can also be used in electrochemical methods, such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
