1-(2,5-Dichloro-4-nitrophenyl)-2,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole is a chemical compound that was first synthesized by the German chemist Otto Wulff in 1876. It is a heterocyclic compound and has been used medicinally as an antihypertensive drug. 1-(2,5-Dichloro-4-nitrophenyl)-2,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole is an anthranilic acid derivative with a hydrogen bond to the carbonyl group. The molecule has two different conformations: one conformation with an open dihedral angle and the other with a closed dihedral angle. The compound also contains two chiral centres at C3 and C4. The compound reacts with benzene to form benzylidene derivatives and it can be hydrolyzed by various enzymes such as kinases or nitro compounds to form the corresponding
