Description:
2,5-Dibromo-3-cyclohexylthiophene is a substituted thiophene that is used as a copolymerization component. It has been shown to be catalytic in the formation of polymers with alkyl substituents. 2,5-Dibromo-3-cyclohexylthiophene can also be used as a functionalized electron acceptor in coupling reactions. This compound has been shown to have high permeation properties and it is soluble in poly(ethylene glycol)s. Gel permeation chromatography has shown that 2,5-Dibromo-3-cyclohexylthiophene produces copolymers with various alkyl substituents.
