It has been shown to inhibit the activity of porcine pancreatic lipase in vitro and to inhibit the production of triglycerides from long chain fatty acids in vitro. 6-(4-Phenylpiperazin-1-yl)pyridin-3-amine also inhibits cancer cell growth and induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. This drug has been shown to have anticancer activity against a number of different types of cancers, including breast, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers.
