Product Information
5-Bromo-furan-2-carboxylic acid is an estrogen receptor modulator that binds to the estrogen receptor and exerts estrogenic effects. This compound, also known as Bracinostat, has been shown to inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells in vitro by binding to the estrogen receptor. It acts as a prodrug for benzoxazole analogues, which are active forms of 5-Bromo-furan-2-carboxylic acid. The analogues are capable of inhibiting DNA synthesis, protein synthesis, and cell growth. They have been shown to be effective in treating prostate cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and endometrial cancer.
