Peptide derived from the neuroblastoma RAS viral oncogene homolog (NRAS), which contains a GTPase enzymatic site and plays a role, along with the other RAS proto-oncogenes KRAS and HRAS, in growth, proliferation and differentiation.RAS proteins switch between a GDP and a GTP bound state, the latter of which is the active form of RAS. NRAS is encoded by a gene located on chromosome 1 and was identified in neuroblastoma cell lines. Recent studies suggest that the NRAS gene rs2273267 A >T polymorphism is involved in regulating the risk of neuroblastoma.The isoleucine at position 5 is isotopically labelled with carbon-13(6) and nitrogen-15.
