Product Information

Name:
Anti-P2X5 antibody - 1mg/mL
Description:

Purinergic receptor P2X 5 (P2X5) ligand-gated ion channel by extracellular ATP. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Exon-skipping generates a non-functional isoform of the P2X5 subunit. P2X5 is enriched in naive B-cells, memory B-cells, and intestinal tissue. The P2X receptor (1-7) channels assemble as three P2X subunits either as homomeric or heterotrimeric assemblies._x000D_

The P2X5 receptor is a regulator of inflammation and inflammatory bone loss. P2X5 activates the full inflammasome-induced IL-1β production by osteoclasts. P2X5 directly regulates the maturation of osteoclasts. There is evidence P2X5 signalling plays a role in periodontitis disease progression and could be a target for treating oral disease and possibly other bone loss disorders.
