Description:
6-(4-Methoxyphenyl)pyridine-2-carbaldehyde (6MPCA) is a ligand that can be used in catalytic reactions. It has been shown to be a high-activity catalyst for the carbonylation of levulinic acid. 6MPCA also catalyzes the transfer hydrogenation of vanillyl alcohol and other alcohols, with high activity. Furfural was found to be an effective substrate for this reaction.
