Product Information
Glibenclamide is a non-selective cation channel blocker that inhibits the influx of calcium ions into pancreatic beta cells, thereby inhibiting insulin release. It can be used to treat type 2 diabetes, as well as other conditions such as neonatal hypoglycemia and vascular diseases. Glibenclamide has been shown to inhibit synaptic transmission and enhance long-term potentiation in mice with hippocampal brain cells. This drug also inhibits phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K) activity, which is important for the development of immunofluorescence analyses.
