Product Information
3-Ethynyl-3-hydroxy-1-methylpyrrolidin-2-one is a medicinal compound that has been shown to have potent anti-inflammatory properties in vitro and in vivo. 3EHMP inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as TNFα and IL1β, by inhibiting NFκB (nuclear factor kappa B) activation. This compound also stimulates the transcription of genes that produce anti-inflammatory proteins. Furthermore, 3EHMP has been shown to inhibit the translocation of neutrophils from blood into tissue. 3EHMP is not metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and does not bind to plasma proteins or erythrocytes. The pharmacokinetic profile of this drug is favorable because it can be administered orally and has a half life of 10 hours.
