Description:

Vinyl Hexanoate is a hydroxyl-terminated polyvinyl ether with a molecular weight of about 1,000. It has an average degree of polymerization of about 6 and an average molecular weight of about 600. Vinyl Hexanoate is insoluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents. It reacts with acetic acid to form vinyl acetate, which can be used for the production of polyvinyl acetate or polyvinyl alcohol. Vinyl Hexanoate is used as a film-forming polymer and as an acylation agent in the production of synthetic rubber.
