Description:

1,1,3-Trimethylcyclohexane is a solvent that is used in the production of surfactants and as an organic solvent. It can also be used as an oxygenated transfer mechanism to facilitate polymerization reactions. 1,1,3-Trimethylcyclohexane is produced by the reaction of primary amines with acid catalysts in the presence of a terpene. The reaction time depends on the activation energy of the fatty acid monomers and alicyclic monomers that are being reacted. The activation energies required for these reactions are different because alicyclic monomers require more energy than fatty acid monomers to react.
