Description:

3-Methoxyphenyl isothiocyanate is a molecule that can be synthesized in the laboratory. It has been shown to have tuberculostatic activity and inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by inhibiting protein synthesis. This compound also decreases the production of reactive oxygen species, which are implicated in many diseases, including cancer. 3-Methoxyphenyl isothiocyanate has been shown to inhibit the oxidation of thione compounds and also show antioxidant activity.
