Trans-Hydrindane is a biologically active compound that has been studied in relation to its hemolytic activity. It is an enantiopure compound, which means that it is only composed of one type of chiral center. The hydroxyl group and hydroxy group are present on the skeleton, which gives trans-Hydrindane an asymmetric synthesis. This asymmetry can be seen in the reaction mechanism for the synthesis of trans-hydrindane. The stereoselectivity of this reaction is due to the addition of a methyl group to one side of the molecule. Trans-Hydrindane has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. These properties may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, which are involved in inflammatory responses. Trans-Hydrindane also has been shown to have beneficial effects on bowel disease and fatty acid metabolism in rats with inflammatory bowel disease.
