1,2-Dicyclohexylethane is a monosubstituted cycloalkane with a polystyrene backbone. It can exist as two isomers: cis and trans. The cis form is more stable than the trans form, with an activation energy of -9.00 kJmol at 20°C and 0.00 kJmol at 25°C. It has been shown to have diagnostic properties in the determination of organotellurium compounds at temperatures between 250°C and 300°C. The mass spectrum of 1,2-dicyclohexylethane shows peaks for carbons C1, C6, C8, and C10. The molecular formula for this compound is CH2=CHCH2CH=CHCH2CH2=CHCOH.
