5-Ethoxyimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine is a heterocyclic compound that has been extensively studied for its hydrogen bonding properties. It is a member of the class of imidazopyridines and has been shown to exhibit tautomeric and homodimeric behavior in solution. 5-Ethoxyimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine can be isolated as either the keto or enol form and isomers are formed during synthesis. The most stable tautomer is the keto form, which can exist in two forms: 5-ethoxyimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine (I) and 5-ethoxyoxazolo[3,4-c]pyridine (II). The keto form exists as a dimer with a frequency of 1031 cm−1. The enol form exists as a monomer with a frequency of 8
