6-Allyl-o-cresol is a chemical compound that can be synthesized by reacting n-hexane with hydrochloric acid and copper(II) chloride. 6-Allyl-o-cresol is a diamine tetraacetic acid (DTA) complex, which has been shown to act as an antioxidant. It can also be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds. 6-Allyl-o-cresol has been shown to be active against bacteria such as Salmonella typhimurium, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus. 6-Allyl-o-cresol is also used as a reagent in organic chemistry and a catalyst for hydrogenation reactions.
