Product Information
cis-Dimethyl cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylate is a reactive dibutyl cyclohexane ring with a hydroxyl group and a reactive functional group. It is synthesized by the reaction of dimethylbenzene and ethylene glycol in the presence of a catalyst under high pressure. The product can be hydrogenated to form cis-dimethylcyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylate and then reacted with chloride to form cis-dimethylcyclohexane-1,2,3,4,-tetracarboxylate. The latter compound is converted to an aliphatic hydrocarbon by reacting it with fatty acids or alcohols at constant pressure.
