Product Information
- 1-Chloronon-4-yne
- 4-Nonyne, 1-chloro-
1-Chloro-4-nonyne is an organic compound that is used in the synthesis of deuterated compounds. It is produced by the Wittig reaction, which entails the reaction between aldehydes and phosphoranes. In this reaction, 1-chloro-4-nonyne can be synthesized from either an aldehyde or an alkyllithium. The product can then be separated into its two enantiomers by using chromatography or fractional distillation. The deuterated form of 1-chloro-4-nonyne has been shown to react with silver ions to produce nitrogen oxide, which can then be converted into nitric acid. This conversion process can also take place with nitrogen oxide in the presence of sodium methoxide as a catalyst, producing isomerization products of 1-chloro-4-nonyne.
