4-Aminoazobenzene Hydrochloride is a reactive compound that has been used in the preparation of dyestuffs, cyclic compounds and oxazines. The reaction of 4-Aminoazobenzene Hydrochloride with phenothiazine yields a red dye called alizarin. The reaction of 4-Aminoazobenzene Hydrochloride with phenoxazine yields a yellow dye called phenoxazine. 4-Aminoazobenzene Hydrochloride has been shown to be resistant to light, which is due to its high resistance to oxidation and reduction reactions. The photoelectron spectrum of 4-Aminoazobenzene Hydrochloride shows that it is a chromophore, which absorbs photons and transfers the energy to electrons.
