Product Information
- 9H-Carbazole, 4-bromo-
4-Bromocarbazole is a chromophore that is used in the synthesis of medicines. It reacts with zinc powder to form a complex that can be dehydrogenated to yield 4-bromo-1,2-diazonaphthalene. The complex has strong transport properties and can be phosphinated to form 4-bromo-N,N′,N″-trimethylphosphorodiamidite. The ligand 4-bromocarbazole can be synthesized by reacting anthracene with an excess of diazonium salt. This reaction will produce a functional group at the 1 position of the benzene ring, which is important for its photophysical and phosphite properties.
4-Bromocarbazole is also used to synthesize other compounds such as 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroanthracene and 2,3,5,6-tetrap
