N-(4-Chloro-phenyl)-2-hydroxybenzamide is an antimycotic agent that interrupts the synthesis of proteins and cell walls in fungi. The 13C NMR spectroscopy showed that this compound was expressed at high levels in certain microorganisms, such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida albicans, and Aspergillus niger. It has been shown to be active against a number of fungal species including Coccidioides immitis, Cryptococcus neoformans, and Histoplasma capsulatum. This drug has been used in the treatment of infections caused by Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. It has also been used to treat dermatophytic skin infections and cutaneous candidiasis. N-(4-Chloro-phenyl)-2-hydroxybenzamide is soluble in water or oil and can be formulated as an emulsion or suspension. The
