Product Information
5-Chloro-2-ethylaniline is a benzophenone that can be prepared by the reaction of ethylaniline, phosphorus pentachloride, and chlorobenzene. A variety of acid derivatives can also be synthesized from 5-chloro-2-ethylaniline, including benzoic acid, which can then be used to synthesize other compounds such as benzoic esters. The reagents are generally used in organic synthesis and have been shown to react with benzoyl chloride in the presence of base to produce an intermediate with a halogenated alkyl group. These intermediates are often used to prepare dienones through reduction or oxidation reactions.
