Description:
4,6-Dichloro-5-phenylpyrimidine is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme cytochrome P450. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of CYP1A2, CYP2B6, CYP3A4 and CYP2C9. The IC50 values for inhibition of these enzymes are 0.0012 mM for CYP1A2, 0.0013 mM for CYP2B6, 0.0014 mM for CYP3A4 and 0.0015 mM for CYP2C9. 4,6-Dichloro-5-phenylpyrimidine has been shown to be an orally active compound with a pharmacokinetic profile that resembles that of its parent compound dichloroisoquinoline.
