3-Chlorocarpipramine is a drug that binds to 5-HT2 receptors, which are involved in the regulation of bowel movements. It has been shown to inhibit the production of cytokines and chemokines in animal models of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). In addition, 3-chlorocarpipramine also inhibits the activation of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and TLR9, which are proteins that regulate inflammation. The absorption rate of 3-chlorocarpipramine is enhanced by its binding to crystalline cellulose. The release rate of this drug can be controlled by altering its formulation. 3-Chlorocarpipramine has a long half life due to its low clearance rate through renal excretion, which may be due to its high affinity for serum protein.
