Product Information
1-Benzyl-1H-indazol-3-amine is a formic acid derivative that is synthesized by amination of the corresponding benzyl halide. The transformation was performed in chloroform solution at room temperature and yielded the desired product in 30% yield. The postulated mechanism for this reaction involves the formation of an imine intermediate followed by hydrolysis to provide an imidazole ring. The hydrogenation of the indazole ring was catalyzed by platinum on charcoal and gave the desired product in good yield (85%). Recyclization with formic acid provided 1-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-1H-indazol-3-amine, which can be used for further transformations.
