Trimethylhexamethylene Diisocyanate (TMDI) is an organic compound that is used as a solvent. It is an irritant to skin and eyes, and ingestion can lead to liver damage. TMDI is soluble in acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, ethanol, ether and petroleum ether. The solubility of TMDI in water is very low. It has been shown to cause irritation of the respiratory tract and skin when inhaled or absorbed through the skin. It also causes irritation of the eyes if it comes into contact with them.
