Product Information
- Ethyl henicosanoate
Ethyl heneicosanoate is a surfactant that increases the fluidity of the cellular membrane and prevents aggregation. It is also an occlusion agent that protects against oxidation, inhibits glyceride hydrolysis, and stabilizes lipid-based formulations. Ethyl heneicosanoate is useful for the treatment of inflammation, allergies, and hormone-related disorders. This compound prevents the oxidation of fatty acids by inhibiting enzymes such as lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase. It can also be used to increase the solubility of vitamins A, D, E, K, and beta-carotene in oils or fats. Lastly, ethyl heneicosanoate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties through its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
