Product Information
2-Methoxy-4-phenylpyridine is a benzannulated pyridine compound. It is synthesized by the reaction of piperidine and 2-methoxyphenylboronic acid in the presence of a palladium catalyst and a base. The yields are not high, but the reactions are highly regioselective. This compound is also used as a building block for other heterocycles, such as boronic esters and pyridines. 2-Methoxy-4-phenylpyridine has been shown to inhibit fibrosarcoma cells in vitro, which may be due to its ability to induce apoptosis through mitochondrial dysfunction.
