Product Information

Name:
1-Palmitoyl-2-Hydroxy-sn-Glycero-3-Phosphatidylethanolamine
Description:

1-Palmitoyl-2-Hydroxy-sn-Glycero-3-Phosphatidylethanolamine (1P2GP) is a choline phospholipid that is synthesized from phosphatidylcholine and fatty acids. 1P2GP has been shown to be protective against oxidative injury in liver cells. It also has a function in the validation of pharmaceutical drugs through its ability to inhibit cyclase activity in rat liver microsomes and to inhibit cellular membrane oxidation. 1P2GP is also a substrate for the enzyme acyl chain elongation, which plays an important role in the synthesis of molecules such as fatty acids.
