Product Information
Di(pyridin-3-yl)methane is a compound that has been found to have antibacterial activity. It is a ligand for the ruthenium metal center and was used in cross-coupling reactions with benzonitrile to make diarylmethanes. Di(pyridin-3-yl)methane can be synthesized by the reaction of 3,5-dimethylbenzeneboronic acid with pyridine followed by chlorination using elemental chlorine. The magnetic nature of this compound makes it suitable for magnetic separation and analyses.
