Product Information
1-(4-Vinylbenzyl)-1H-imidazole is a ligand that can be used as a catalyst in cross-coupling reactions. It is soluble in solvents such as chloroform and dimethylformamide, and has an actuation temperature of about 140°C. 1-(4-Vinylbenzyl)-1H-imidazole has been shown to be effective for the polymerization kinetics of polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate) in the presence of lithium chloride. This compound also reacts with peroxide to form an organometallic peroxide intermediate. Immobilizing 1-(4-Vinylbenzyl)-1H-imidazole on a support such as silica gel or alumina can also improve its reactivity.
